Traditional Lead Dormers (Wood Roll Construction)

We specialise in traditional lead-clad dormers built using timber roll joints (wood core rolls).

These are the proper rolled lead dormers you see on high-end or period properties — not flat sheets with cosmetic caps.

Our lead dormers include:
• Formed timber rolls fixed correctly to the structure
• Lead dressed and bossed over wood rolls
• Correct expansion allowances
• Code 5 or Code 6 lead where required
• Proper welted joints
• Fully compliant stepped flashing and abutment detailing

Traditional rolled lead dormers require skill and experience.
If they’re done wrong, they split, crack or fail at the joints.

If they’re done properly, they last decades.

We install lead dormers across Northallerton and North Yorkshire to Lead Sheet Association guidelines.
