Our Story
The North Yorkshire Roofing Co Ltd is run by Anthony Brown — a third-generation roofer who grew up in North Yorkshire, spent several years building his reputation running a roofing company down in Surrey, and in 2025 made the decision to come back home.
He brought everything he’d learned with him. Over 11 years of hands-on experience. A specialism in traditional roofing skills that most general roofing firms simply don’t carry any more. And a straightforward approach to the trade — honest quotes, quality materials, and work done properly the first time.
Roofing isn’t just a job for Anthony — it’s a craft that’s been in the family for three generations. That background shapes the way every project is approached, from a single slipped tile to a complete roof replacement.
Qualified, Not Just Experienced
Anthony holds an NVQ Level 2 in Roof Slating & Tiling and continues ongoing professional development through the Lead Sheet Training Academy — one of the most respected training bodies in the roofing industry.
This level of specialist training is genuinely rare among local roofing firms. It’s what allows us to take on the bespoke leadwork, Yorkshire stone slate, and period property roofing that others turn down — and to do it properly, in line with current Lead Sheet Association recommendations.
Every qualifying new roof we install is independently inspected and signed off by Building Control, giving you complete confidence that the work meets the highest standards.

One of our most recognised projects involved extensive roofing works to Bradley’s Fish & Chips on Northallerton High Street — a bespoke decorative natural slate roof featuring a handcrafted lead rose, together with the complete reconstruction of an adjoining roof using new rafters, new purlins and a new Double Roman tiled system.
