Bradley's Fish & Chips Roofing Project | Northallerton High Street
Bespoke Slate Roofing & Complete Roof Structure Replacement
The North Yorkshire Roofing Co Ltd was proud to complete extensive roofing works at Bradley’s Fish & Chips on Northallerton High Street, one of the town’s most recognisable and well-established businesses.
The project involved two separate roof structures, each requiring a different approach and a high level of roofing expertise.
The works included the installation of a bespoke decorative natural slate roof featuring a handmade lead rose centrepiece, together with the complete reconstruction of an adjoining roof structure, including new rafters, new purlins and a new concrete Double Roman tiled roof system.
The result is a roofing project that combines traditional craftsmanship, structural roofing expertise and long-term weather protection whilst enhancing the appearance of one of Northallerton’s best-known buildings.

Decorative Slate Roofing Installation
A key feature of this project was the installation of a bespoke decorative natural slate roof.
The roof was carefully designed and installed to create an attractive focal point whilst complementing the character of the building.
At the centre of the roof sits a handmade lead rose, providing a distinctive finishing detail that demonstrates the level of craftsmanship incorporated throughout the project.
The decorative slate work required careful setting out, precise slate cutting and meticulous installation to achieve the finished appearance.
This section of the project remains one of the most admired roofing features on Northallerton High Street.
Complete Roof Structure Replacement
Alongside the decorative slate roof, extensive structural roofing works were required to the adjoining roof section.
Following inspection, it became apparent that the existing roof structure required substantial reconstruction works.
The roof was stripped back and rebuilt with:
- New Structural Rafters
- New Timber Purlins
- New Roofing Battens
- New Breathable Roofing Membrane
- New Concrete Double Roman Roof Tiles
These works effectively created a completely new roof structure designed to provide long-term strength, durability and weather resistance.
